Bantams - For Players born between 6/1/2009 - 5/31/2011
The Bantam playing level is the most advanced youth hockey player development level. Body checking is taught and becomes a part of practices and games at the Bantam level. At the completion of this level players should be prepared for High School hockey. At the Bantam level "AA", "B1" and "B2" level teams will be determined through a player evaluation process. Teams will be formed by the coaching staff through the evaluation process focused on assigning each player to the team level that will allow the player to continue developing individual and team skills. Teams at this level will play other district teams as well as travel games and tournaments. Teams will also participate in District tournaments with the opportunity to advance to Minnesota Hockey Regional and State tournaments.
Season - Mid-October through Mid-March
Ice Time: 5 - 6 scheduled times per week plus Open Hockey sessions. Tournaments are held at various times and locations during the year.
Days/Time - Week nights, weekends and school holidays.
Fees: $850.00 local registration fee plus applicable USA Hockey Registration fee. Residents of Polk County residing outside of the EGF city limits who attend school in East Grand Forks pay an additional $40.00 per activity registration.
Goals: To allow all players the opportunity to continue to improve the hockey skills of skating, passing, puck handling, shooting, and positional play among playing groups of similarly skilled players. Also give players the opportunity to continue to grow in competitive team play and to have FUN. Practice plans based on and developed through USA Hockey and the American Development Model.
